This week’s episode of NXT picked up the pieces from Battleground in a big way, featuring two major title matches, unexpected run-ins, and a few rising stars making waves on the black and gold brand.
Ethan Page Is Still Champion—But Not for Long?
In the opening bout, Ethan Page successfully defended his North American Championship against Ricky Saints in what was a gritty, high-energy contest. Page, riding high off his recent victory, barely had time to catch his breath before being confronted by a trio that made everyone sit up—Rey Fenix, Je’Von Evans, and AAA’s own Laredo Kid stormed the scene. The confrontation escalated fast, and by the end of the night, a Fatal Four-Way was confirmed for Worlds Collide. Page’s days with the gold may be numbered.
Mike Santana Has No Time for Celebrations
Trick Williams’ post-Battleground celebration was short-lived. As he raised his TNA World Championship high, Mike Santana hit the ring with a statement-making ambush. The two had words, fists flew, and by the time officials pulled them apart, a match was locked in for next week. Expect fireworks.
Later in the show, Santana stayed hot, picking up a decisive win over Tavion Heights. With momentum on his side, Trick better come prepared.
Jacy Jayne Claims the Gold
In a hard-fought battle for the NXT Women’s Championship, Jacy Jayne emerged victorious over Stephanie Vaquer. Vaquer brought the fire, but Jayne’s experience and cunning sealed the win. This marks a new chapter for the division, and with the roster heating up, Jayne won’t have long to rest.
Rising Stars Making Moves
Jaida Parker continues to turn heads. She took on Tatum Paxley and walked out with another win, looking sharper than ever. Meanwhile, WWE LFG Season One winner Jasper Troy made his long-awaited NXT in-ring debut and didn’t disappoint. He defeated Dante Chen in a match that showcased his raw strength and polished ring instincts, this guy’s clearly not here to blend in.
Looking Ahead
With Worlds Collide looming and tempers flaring, NXT is entering a new era. Ethan Page has challengers from every direction, Jacy Jayne now leads the women’s locker room, and Trick Williams has a war coming his way. Next week promises to raise the stakes even further.
Stay tuned, this summer’s shaping up to be a wild ride.
